WHY THE STARTING POINT MATTERS

The Same Goal Can Have Different Starting Points

Australia’s registration, skills assessment and visa systems do not answer the same question. Your qualification, registration history and work record can also change which process matters first.

  • AHPRA + NMBADeal with nursing registration.
  • ANMACDeals with migration skills assessments for nurses.
  • Home AffairsMakes visa decisions.

Another nurse’s route, a saved post or a long list of official links cannot tell you which sequence fits your facts. The Pathway Check gives your research a starting category before you prepare for a particular route.

THREE EDUCATIONAL STARTING CATEGORIES

Your Answers Point to One of Three Starting Categories

01

Direct Pathway

Start by checking the Australian registration route, then work through ANMAC and migration planning in the order that follows.

02

Skills Assessment Pathway

Start by checking ANMAC’s Full Skills Assessment requirements, with nursing registration treated as a separate process.

03

Not Quite Yet

Pause and recheck the qualification, registration or work-history facts that may change what you investigate next.

Questions before you begin

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Pathway Check free?

Yes. The 10 questions and your NurseOz starting category are free. Any route-specific Migration Pack shown after the result is optional.

Does the result make an official decision or cover every pathway?

No. The Check is mainly for internationally qualified registered nurses and does not cover every possible regulatory or migration scenario. AHPRA and the NMBA decide nursing registration, ANMAC decides migration skills assessments, and Home Affairs decides visas.

What does Not Quite Yet mean?

Your current answers did not point towards Direct Pathway or Skills Assessment Pathway. It is not an official rejection and does not mean no Australian pathway exists. You may need to confirm parts of your qualification, registration or work history.

Do I need to buy a Migration Pack or get professional advice?

No purchase is required for your result. If a route-specific Migration Pack is relevant, you can review it separately. The Check cannot tell you whether you need personal advice; use an appropriately qualified professional if your circumstances require it.
